Hayes Named to Area Underclassmen to Watch List – Presented by Payne Insurance Agency

Football

Maddox Davis – Bethel

Maddox saw time at quarterback last season and threw for 220 yards and three touchdowns in  limited time as a freshman and ran the ball 12 times for 107 yards. Defensively he had 34 tackles, four pass break ups.

Nick Pitman – Bishop McGuinness

A really good three-sport athlete that started on the soccer team as a ninth grader. He will play on both sides of the ball and be a star over the next few seasons.  

Asher McCaffery – Blanchard

Just a raw and hard nosed player. Once he becomes more comfortable with the scheme and the details, he has a chance to be a big time player.  

Cayden Milner – Bowlegs

Played quarterback for the first time last year as a freshman. He has great poise and does not get rattled. Really makes his reads and does not get hurried in the pocket. As he gets more experience and matures he will be a very special athlete.

Lathan McKnight – Bridge Creek

Lathan has continued to improve on his speed and strength. He has gotten bigger and will be hard to bring down at the running back position. He is very quick and agile and has good speed. 

Delijah Matthews – Carl Albert

Delijah has the potential to be a stud running back and defensive back. He will look to have a big season for the Titans.

Quinn Housley – Community Christian

Quinn will start at defensive back this season. He is a physical athlete that can deliver a blow to would-be pass catchers.  

Smith Gordon – Crescent

He is a guy offensively who coaches can use in multiple spots. He has a good knowledge of the game. He is a very shifty, quick player who we will look to get the ball in space many times a game.  

Josiah Chester – Del City

Josiah is a young and explosive athlete. He has great size and has the ability to catch the ball at his highest point.

Kruz Laviolette – Douglass

A sophomore offensive and defensive lineman, Kruz has a solid motor, along with good feet and hands. Getting better everyday and becoming a team leader. Primed for a good year.

Colton McComb – Edmond Memorial

Colton saw a significant amount of playing time last year at defensive end. He is returning as a linebacker this year and an all around utility guy.  

Will Lewallen – Edmond North

Will is a three-sport athlete who will be a top level recruit. He is moving from wide receiver to tight end, Will is going to be a matchup issue for linebackers and a force blocking on the edge.  

Rustyn Cook – El Reno

He plays wherever his team needs him. He is the scout team quarterback and the first guy off the bench. Cook is a coach’s kid, hard worker, and has a football IQ through the roof. 

Zecheriah Robinson – Guthrie

Robinson is an outstanding player that is long, fast, strong, and smart. He has the ability to play multiple positions on the field, but this season, he will see time at tight end and wide receiver on offense and outside linebacker on defense.

Zachary Crabb – Harrah

Crabb is a unique athlete who has the speed and smarts to be tremendous on both sides of the ball. Crabb could possibly see playing time in some games this season. He is a fast wide receiver and a hard-hitting safety. He is going to be someone we will be watching make plays for all four years of high school.  

Porter England – Heritage Hall

Porter had a great freshman season. He has had a huge offseason in the weight room and in spring ball. He will start at wide receiver and defensive back this fall. He has good speed and great agility. He has great body control and is ultra-competitive when the ball is in the air. 

Abe Gomez – Holdenville

Abe is a strong athlete that works hard all the time. Along with playing football, he is also a powerlifter. That will help him be a successful athlete. 

Andrew Powell – John Marshall

Andrew is a highly talented freshman with tremendous upside. He is a fearless defensive back with skills that far exceed the typical freshman. Offensively, Andrew is a dependable wide receiver with sure hands who always seems to find his way open.  

Drew Thomas – Jones

Drew should be an explosive player on both sides of the ball. He has shown potential this spring to have a breakout season.

Bo Browning – Luther

He is a sophomore that will be a starter on defense as a safety. Bo likes contact and is a ball hawk on the field. 

Kingston Trevino – McLoud

A smooth and tall athlete that excels on both sides of the ball. Good ball skills and a great feel for the game

Roanon Wolford – Meeker

Roanon started every game his freshman season at linebacker. He amassed 114 tackles as a freshman with 14 tackles for loss. This year he will be expected to help carry the load in the run game with a very physical running style.

Andrew Eagle – Moore

Eagle started at linebacker as a freshman and he will continue to be an impact player this season. 

Cord Brown – Mount St. Mary

Brown brings a lot of experience to the team during his sophomore season. He played a lot of snaps at running back last year. He is a physical back who is not afraid of contact. Brown will be a big part of the Rockets offense in 2024.  

Brodie Grace – North Rock Creek

Brodie could have an impact in a couple of positions this year. He plays linebacker and halfback. 

Eli Winter – OK Christian School

Eli moved to receiver late in the season last year. He is very quick and the offense will work to get that ball to him in space.  

Jonnas Stinson-Powers – Putnam City North

Jonnas started eight games as a freshman. He is a very talented kid and will more than likely play on both sides of the ball for the Panthers. During his freshman year, he ended with  37 total tackles, five pass break ups, one tackle for loss, and one interceptions.

Logan Skelton – Shawnee

Last season, Logan became the first freshman to start for Shawnee in many years when he opened up the year as the starting nose guard for the defense. He will start on both sides of the ball this season and will have an impact on the season. 

Damon Davis – Southeast

Damon has a lot of potential as a defensive end. He can be as good as he wants to be, and Damon will no doubt have an impact on the season. 

Taven Hayes – Southmoore

Taven is the Sabercats starting quarterback this season. His athleticism and competitive nature set him apart. He is a mobile threat that can make every throw on the field. He has learned the offense this spring and will add a different dimension to the Sabercats this fall. 

Cadriann Olds – Star-Spencer

Olds is an exceptional defensive end with an athletic prowess and impactful presence on the field. He combines speed, strength, and agility to effectively disrupt opposing offenses. His quick reflexes and powerful tackles make him a formidable opponent for any offensive line. 

Tyreese Mclin – US Grant

Tyreese was rotated in last year as a freshman at both wide receiver and defensive back and is looking to secure both spots this year. He is a multi-sport athlete who puts the time and the effort in on and off the field as he also had a 4.0 GPA last school year.

Kade Babcock – Washington

Kade played a lot of special teams as a freshman last year, but he ended up breaking his leg towards the end of the season. He is a playmaker on both sides of the ball and will continue to make plays over the next three years.  

Bryce Collier – Westmoore

He is a smooth wide reciever with great speed and can make you miss.  

Bill Stephens – Wewoka

Stephens is a freshman that is really athletic. He has worked hard to get where he is and he will continue to get better. 

Rocco Johnson – Yukon

Rocco is explosive off the ball and will cause problems in the backfield and in pass rush.

Softball

Bailey Tucker – Bethel

Tucker started at shortstop as a freshman last season. She has great range and a great arm, and is also very good at the plate. She is a tough out.

Baylee Tate – Blanchard

A ton of pop from the left side and she can leave the yard at any moment to all fields.

Cheyan Creekmore – Del City

Cheyan is a passionate player with a strong throwing arm and a great swing. She’s small, and is often overlooked because of her size, but she has a natural athletic talent that is noticeable from the moment she moves. Cheyan works hard and is maturing into one of our strongest players.

Gretchen Grubbs – Edmond North

Gretchen started last year and played a number of positions for the Huskies. Very fast with a good arm and is hitting better this off season  

Hadley Williams – Edmond Santa Fe

Hadley moves well on the field and plays great defensively. At the plate she is going to get better and better.

Kinley Taylor – Jones

In a short time with Jones, Kinley has proven herself an asset to the program and a game changer.  

Marleigh Givens – Lexington

Could have a breakout year in the circle and at the plate. Givens played a key role in the slow pitch season, while anchoring down third base and showing big power at the plate with 11 home runs and 32 RBIs.  

Kayce Higdon – McLoud

Kayce is looking to be a major piece in the lineup going into her freshman season. She has had a productive summer at the plate and is playing third base.

Jayda Jacobs – Midwest City

Jayda is a freshman and has shown that she has the ability to be a special player. Her hard work and dedication to softball shows that she has an incredible upside and has a chance to be on the field her freshman year.

Erika Summitt – Moore

Erika had three senior pitchers she learned from last year, so the ball will be in her hand often this season. She has great drive and spin and understands how to complete a game. Erika will be fun to watch, as she is a true competitor.  

Weslyn McCorvey – Mustang

Weslyn is a freshman in the program this season. She brings a lot of athleticism to the team, and she is a powerful hitter at the plate. She has a bright future as a Mustang Bronco.

Marcella Attar – Norman

Marcela has a chance to come in as a freshman and contribute right away to the lineup and as a middle infielder. She has played a high level of travel ball with the Athletics organization and she is expected to become a major piece of the Norman softball team.

Kennedy Walker – Norman North

Kennedy shows a huge upside. She has outstanding rage, a quick glove, and a strong arm. At the plate, she provides a lot of power with great bat speed and discipline and has become comfortable in her home run trot. 

Ashlyn Emmert – Piedmont

Emmert started games last year at third base, first base, and designated player. She was a very productive offensive player in 2023 and the team will depend on her versatility on defense and offense.

Ryen Bullock – Southmoore

A great ballplayer with a great eye at the plate and huge power. She started as a freshman and was a key player as Southmoore made a run to the state championship. Ryen had a massive state tournament last year and is not scared of the pressure.  

Gabrielle Seeley – Westmoore

Elle is a freshman and multi-sport athlete who brings a quiet confidence to the team. She has a deep offensive toolbox that brings speed and power to the lineup, while also having a strong defensive presence. She is the type of athlete that comes in year one and has an impact.  

Aliyah Busby – Yukon

She is a hard worker that will continue to work on and improve her game. She will continue to increase her production on the field.
