VYPE: What do your teammates and your team mean to you?
Fridia: My team is everything to me, we are like a second family. This includes on and off the court, like any family we have ups and downs but, in the end, we come together and learn from our mistakes. Over the past off-season we have built a bond through our training, volunteer service, and coach Fourkiller’s running sessions. We have grown to love, and sometimes loathe each other. No matter the obstacle we have overcame it and continue to overachieve.
VYPE: When coach Fourkiller calls you an unsung hero of the team, what does that mean to you and how do you define that term?
Fridia: This is a great question, I truly do not see myself as an unsung hero but rather I just go out every day to work hard, get better, and constantly encourage my teammates. Unsung to me is like the oil that keeps a machine running. No one ever praises it nor pays much attention to it unless it isn’t there, but it is the most important component needed for the engine to run.
VYPE: What grade are you in and what are your plans after you graduate?
Fridia: I am currently a sophomore with big dreams after graduation. I plan to attend Dartmouth University and study Law with the hopes of becoming a lawyer.
