Southmoore girls swimmer Aubrey Osburn was named a VYPE Underclassman to Watch.
Aubrey Osburn is a freshman and a member of the varsity swim team at Southmoore High School. Osburn is one of the fastest swimmers on the team and coach Jeff Beuchaw said he is excited to see her grow as a swimmer and as a person.
“I see nothing but good things for her going forward in life,” said coach Beuchaw.
We caught up with Osburn before the season started to learn more about the freshman phenom.
VYPE: Tell us your favorite memory as a student athlete.
Osburn: My favorite memory was coming to the wall on the 200 IM for my first high school meet and seeing my teammates cheering for me. This made me so proud! Also, taking our teams photos, we are such a diverse group that come together to support and encourage one another.
VYPE: If you were stranded on an island who are the three people you would want with you and why?
Osburn: I would want my boyfriend Micheal, friend Houston and my mom Amanda with me on the island. Micheal would provide us with entertainment and the muscle to get things done. Houston would provide the brains to keep us alive and my mom would provide mom-like things to survive and join Micheal’s comedy troupe. I don’t know how long we would last but at least we would be laughing.
VYPE: What is your go to lunch at the school cafeteria?
Osburn: My go to lunch is popcorn chicken, fries, and ranch.
