VYPE: What are your personal goals for the year and season?
Zya: My personal goals for this season are to be a more consistent player and leader on and off the court, so we can win more games and impact more lives in a positive way.
VYPE: What is the most fun you have had in the last year?
Zya: I’m always having fun at volleyball, but I would say any of our dress up practice days are always my favorite, and they’re the most fun.
VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade and why?
Zya: My favorite teacher is my ninth grade history teacher, Coach G. Coach G is my favorite teacher because he poured into my life and made a huge impact on my life. He’s funny and sarcastic which reminds me of my dad, which is probably why I enjoyed his class so much.
VYPE: What is your favorite athletic memory?
Zya: My favorite athletic memory was winning a tournament in Tulsa with my club team this year. We had such a special bond, and it really showed on the court that tournament.
VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?
Zya: A teammate that has left the biggest impression on me would be Kyah Henderson. We played together this club season, and honestly didn’t click at first. As time went on she ended up becoming my best friend. She has left the biggest impression on me because we encourage each other in our faith, we’re always having a fun time, and she’s an easy going personality.
VYPE: Who on your team has the best impression of your coach and who says the funniest things during games?
Zya: Brilyn Ross 100% has the best impression of Coach Williamson. Miley Simo says the most random and funny things during games, or anytime.
VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation, where do you go and who do you take with you?
Zya: If I could pick any place for a summer vacation, I would pick to go to Fiji with my family. The beach is my favorite place to be, and I love family vacations.
VYPE: If we have you $500 and you had to spend it in the next 24 hours, what would you spend it on?
Zya: If I were to be given $500 and had to spend it in the next 24 hours I would definitely spend it on clothes and shoes.
VYPE: Here is your chance to say hello, goodbye or thank you to anyone you wish.
Zya: I want to thank God for giving me the ability to play this game, and for bringing volleyball into my life, which has given me the best friends and life lessons. I also want to thank Him for blessing me with the best family and friends ever!
