VYPE: What are your goals for this season?
Kenzi: My goal for this season is to work hard and become not only the best player I possibly can be, but also the best teammate. Most of all to just have fun doing the sport that I love.
VYPE: Who is your favorite athlete and why?
Kenzi: My favorite athlete is Tyler Herro because he has so much confidence on the court and who he is as a player and I hope one day I will be able to find that level of confidence in myself.
VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade and why?
Kenzi: Mrs. Oglesby was my first grade teacher. She is my favorite teacher because she got me through a really rough patch in my life and I am so incredibly grateful for her kindness.
VYPE: Who do you look up to and why?
Kenzi: I look up to my mom because she is the strongest woman I have ever met in my entire life, and I hope one day I can find the strength that she has in myself.
VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?
Kenzi: I can’t just pick one because I have two: Keziah Lofton and Ra’Kayla Coulter. We played on the same AAU team in first grade and ever since then we have been best friends. They have shown me how much fun basketball can be and especially when you do it with the people you love. They have left such a big impression on my life. They are my day ones and they always will be.
VYPE: What is your favorite part about being on a team?
Kenzi: My favorite part is the people that you surround yourself with. I have met some of the most amazing people and that is all because of basketball.
VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation, where do you go and who do you take with you?
Kenzi: I would go to Hawaii because I mean come on who doesn’t want to go to Hawaii? I would take my family because I know we would all have a blast together.
VYPE: When and how did you first get into playing basketball?
Kenzi: I first got into basketball when in the first grade, it was all because of my dad. He plays basketball and I have always been surrounded by it growing up. My love for basketball just came easy.
VYPE: Here is your chance to say hello, goodbye or thank you to anyone you wish.
Kenzi: Thank you to everyone who has ever supported me throughout my entire life. I might not have told you this when it truly mattered, but I am so grateful to every single person who has been a part of my journey and who has made me who I am today. I would be nowhere if it wasn’t for all of you.
