The Southmoore slow pitch softball team defeated Choctaw 17-7 Monday to win the 6A state championship at USA Softball Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City.
The SaberCats run rule Choctaw in five innings to bring home their third slow pitch title since 2014. Southmoore has won two consecutive fast pitch state titles and is one of the best softball programs in the country as of late.
“We just hit it all over the place today,” Southmoore head coach James Lingo said. “A bunch of runs in all three games. A bunch of hits. Everybody contributed. It was just a total team win.”
