Head Football Coach Jake Monden is a 1999 graduate of Noble High School, in Noble Oklahoma. While at Noble Coach Monden was a 3 sport letterman and was All State as a Competitor in football and wrestling.
Coach Monden attended Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, OK and was a 4 year lettermen for the Redmen. While at NSU he was apart of 2 LSC conference championship teams. After graduation Coach Monden spent 3 years on the NSU coaching staff while earning his masters degree in Health and Kinesiology. At NSU Coach Monden served in various roles as a coach on the offensive side of the ball.
In 2007 Coach Monden became the O-Line coach at South Georgia powerhouse Dublin High School. The Irish were state semi-finalist 2 years in a row and won a state championship. In 2008 Coach Monden then became the Offensive coordinator, and head wrestling coach at Stockbridge High School in Georgia. Coach Monden led his wrestling team to a 73-7 duals record in 2 seasons, and was also key in turning the football program around and school culture in a short 2 year period. In 2010 Coach Monden and his family relocated to the state of Arkansas and he became the defensive coordinator at Mineral Springs High School.
In 3 seasons with the Hornets the program amassed 30 wins. His defensive units led the state with 120 takeaways and in 3 years gave up an average of 13 points per game. In 2012 Mineral Springs made it to the state Semi-Finals. In 2013 Coach Monden became the Defensive Coordinator for El Dorado High School in Arkansas. In his first season with the Wildcats after replacing 9 starters on his unit they were the 2013 6A state champions.
His defensive unit in 2013 surrendered 13.2 points per game, and earned 43 takeaways in 13 games. In 2014-15 he helped the Wildcats to two more state semi-finals games. In 2016 Coach Monden became the Head Football Coach to rival Camden Fairview High School. In 6 seasons with the Cardinals Coach Monden has amassed 44 wins and has turned the program around. In 6 seasons Coach Monden has led the Cardinals to 5 straight Arkansas playoff appearances. In 2019 the Cardinals were conference runner up, and most recently in 2021 won the 5A-South Conference outright with a 6-0 conference record.
Coach Monden was named to the Arkansas All-Star coaching staff in 2019, and in 2021 named 5A South coach of the year. Coach Monden in 2021 was also named a finalist for Arkansas 5A Coach of the Year. In Coach Monden’s 18 year career and the last 15 at the high school level he’s developed over 100 athletes that have gone on to compete at the college level.
Coach Monden and his family; Wife – Stefanie, Daughter – Haylee (17), Son – Maddix (13), Daughter – Reese (10) are excited for the return home to Oklahoma to lead the Southmoore Sabercats Football Program.
