Southmoore head coach Tim Stogsdill calls Keilan Howard a team leader at point guard. He also calls him an unsung hero of the team. We caught up with Howard to get his thoughts on his teammates and what it means to be called the unsung hero.
VYPE: What do you love most about this team and your teammates?
Howard: My team is like a family to me, there’s no other group of guys I’d rather play with on a nightly basis.
VYPE: When you hear coach Stogsdill call you the unsung hero of the team, what does that mean to you and how do you define that term?
Howard: It’s nice to hear that from my coach, but really I just want to do whatever it takes for my team to be successful. I would define it as simply just being team first and knowing what it takes to get where you want to as a team overall.
VYPE: What grade are you in this season and what are your plans after you graduate?
Howard: I’m a senior and I plan to go on to college and play basketball.
