VYPE: What is your go-to pregame and post-game meal?
Ross: My go to pre meal is Teriyaki Noodles from Pei Wei. My go to post meal is air fried chicken with sweet potato fries.
VYPE: What is the best thing about being a student-athlete at Southmoore High School?
Ross: The best thing about being a student-athlete is the motivation. We can only succeed out of the classroom as much as we do in the classroom. When life gets hard, having your sport is an incredible way to let the stress of the world just fall away.
VYPE: What is your favorite memory while competing with your teammates?
Ross: My favorite memory as a student-athlete was my junior year cross country regionals. Me and my former teammate Joel Haynes made it to state as individuals, but we were not satisfied because we were extremely disappointed that we did not make it as a team. We went back to the tent with our team and talked with our coach. As our coach was talking, I realized that Joel wasn’t in our circle, and neither was one of our coaches. All of the sudden I hear Joel screaming across the course that we made it as a team. The team and I sprint to the official’s tent, and they announced that there was a miscount. The last team that had made it to state was bumped to eighth and our team was bumped to seventh. It was the first time Southmoore High School had made it to state as a team in six-plus years. It was the best athletic moment of my career.
