With six starters back on defense the Sabercats have a few holes to fill, but they do return Ronnie Doddles (6-2, 215, Sr.) at defensive end. Doddles plays with a lot of emotion and
energy which bleeds over into the entire defensive unit. Doddles is a rare talent that gets better as the game goes on. Angel Cruz (6-0, 230, Sr.) will start on the defensive line giving
Southmoore a player who can put pressure on the offense. Kyan Blackwell (6-1, 215, Sr.) and Owen Parsons (5-9, 200, Sr.) will start at linebacker while Kasen Rinehart (6-1, 180,
So.) will look to give the secondary a boost. Isaiah Coates (6-3, 205, So.) is a long and rangy defensive end the Sabercats need up front. Means, Mason and Mayer will see time on
defense as well. Means will likely start at safety with mason and Mayer playing corner. Thompson joins his mates on defense at tackle. Also look for Zeph Davison to see time in
the secondary.
