In recent years Southmoore softball has become synonymous with winning. They proved this once again in 2021 as the Lady Sabercats won their second consecutive Class 6A state championship in fast-pitch and followed that up by taking home the slow-pitch state final in the spring, too. Head coach Jason Lingo knows that his team is once again loaded with talent and is looking to make another run at the state title.

Taitum Bradshaw (OF, Sr.) returns as one of the top players in the state. Bradshaw will lead the Lady Sabercats into the new season at the top of the batting order. She brings good power to the plate, has exceptional speed, and tracks the ball well when in the outfield. Bradshaw has committed to continue her softball career at the collegiate level playing for Grand Canyon University. There will be a new face in the circle for Southmoore this year with the addition of Haylee Monden (P, Sr.). Monden recently moved into the district from Arkansas and is a D1 caliber pitcher who has numerous collegiate offers and has spent time at the OU Elite invitational camp. Monden is the type of player that will make an immediate and significant impact. Bree Gomez (OF, So.) had an impressive freshman season in the outfield. Her speed alone allows to contribute on offense and defense and Gomez is equally capable in the outfield tracking down balls as she is advancing around the diamond after getting a hit.

Brylee Fanning (C) is a defensive leader for Southmoore and provides a strong vocal presence from behind the dish. Fanning also swings a great stick and has been a solid contributor through her first two years of varsity play. Also look for Karliegh Williams to make an impact this year. Williams is a fantastic teammate that does everything she can to help her team be successful. Southmoore has been the team to beat in Class 6A softball and 2022 looks to be another successful season, but can they pull off a third straight title? Lingo and his team will surely try.
