Southmoore head coach Kara Carden knew this would be a good season the Southmoore cheer squad thanks to their ability to adapt and overcome.
“Our team is very resilient and versatile and can work well under pressure. Our team is like a sisterhood or family. We don’t let our personal issues get in the way,” said coach Carden.
With four seniors at the helm of the ship, the Southmoore cheer program is in good hands.
“All four of our seniors serve as our captains this year. Their names are Brooklyn Hise, Emma Nguyen, Rylee Jade, and Katie Groves,” said coach Carden.
Last season at state, Southmoore finished fourth in Class 6A, leaving the team hungry for a higher finish this season.
